ESPANOLA, ON – Blake Peters-Davey had 3 goals and 3 assists while Lucas Signoretti contributed 2 goals and 3 assists for the Espanola Paper Kings in a lopsided 10-2 win over the French River Rapids at the Espanola Regional Recreational Complex on Sunday afternoon.
Graydon Guthrie supplied two goals as well while Owen Fergusson contributed two assists.
Blake Peters-Davey scored a pair of early first period goals to get the Paper Kings offence in flight.
Peters-Davey went in on a breakaway from the Paper Kings blueline and fired a shot past Brady Dyer at 5:07 on a nice pass from Liam Rampersad.
Just over 3 minutes later, Peters-Davey converted after some good work by the Paper Kings down low as he put home a rebound by Dyer for a 2-0 lead.
Later in the period, Atley Gringorten notched his 12th for a 3-0 Paper Kings lead at 14:28 of the first period.
Then it was Graydon Guthrie who converted a rebound off a Spencer Horgan shot at 16:47 to make it 4-0 Paper Kings.
Just past the midway point of the second, Lucas Signoretti netted his 38th and then less than a minute later Peters-Davey completed the hat trick with his 20th at 12:17 which made it 6-0 Paper Kings.
Late in the second, Signoretti converted his second of the game and second of the period for his 39th which made it 7-0 at 18:33.
Early in the third, the Papers Kings Guthrie put home his second of the game and 17th of the season at 0:47 which made it 8-0.
The Rapids Gavin Haslam finally got the visitors on the board at 12:41 of the third.
Two minutes later, it was the Paper King’s Jack Lynes who netted a shorthanded goal for his 15th at 14:41 which made it 9-1.
Then Spencer Horgan got the Paper Kings to double digits with his 22nd at 16:27 which made it 10-1.
The Rapids’ Matthew Stringer put home his 13th at 16:39 of the final frame to make it 10-2.
