Hearst’s Rutledge leads NOJHL in goals

CALGARY, Alta. –
Another look at some statistical numbers across the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) finds some solid numbers in the goal scoring department.

Currently topping the entire CJHL in tallies is Brooks Bandits (AJHL) forward T.J. Hughes.

In his first 37 contests in the Alberta Junior Hockey League this season, the 20-year-old Hamilton, Ont., product has scored 37 times, including 15 via the power play.

The Mercyhurst University NCAA Division I commitment also has five game-winning markers to his credit for the No. 1 ranked Bandits.

Joining Hughes with 30-plus CJHL goals to date is Collège Français de Longueuil (LHJAAQ) winger Maxime Gagné, who has found the back of the net on 31 occasions in 28 outings.

Hailing from St-Constant, Que., Gagné, also 20, presently paces the Quebec AAA Junior Hockey League with a solid plus-40 rating while leading the 12-team LHJAAAQ in man advantage markers and point-per-game average at 12 and 2.46 respectively.
