FRENCH RIVER – French River Rapids netminder Andrew Rocha kicked out all 33 shots he faced to register his first Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League shutout in a 2-0 victory over the Timmins Rock Saturday at Noelville Arena.

The Rapids picked up the lone tally of the opening period as rookie Levi Siau notched his team-leading 19th goal of the season at 15:58 while also upping his club-best point total to 43 in what proved to be the game-winning marker.

It stayed 1-0 for the home side all the way deep into regulation when Spencer Dupuis iced it with 35 seconds remaining to round out the scoring.

Will Frustaglio assisted on both French River markers for a two-point night while Siau also had a helper to go with his goal.

The victory was the second in as many nights for the Rapids with Rocha posting back-to-back wins for his club.

Tyler Masternak faced 34 shots in defeat for Timmins.
